Lion's Mane Mushroom

Lion's Mane is an edible mushroom studied for potential cognitive and nerve-related benefits, popular as a nootropic for focus and memory. It is available as a food, a powder and a supplement extract.

Early research, including some small human studies and animal work, suggests possible cognitive and nerve growth-related effects, but the human evidence is limited in size and quality. It is a promising but not established nootropic, and much of the strong online enthusiasm outpaces the current evidence.

Generally well tolerated as a food and supplement. Allergic reactions are possible, particularly in those sensitive to mushrooms. Long-term high-dose safety is not well characterised.

If you have mushroom allergies, take it with caution. If you are taking it hoping to address a specific cognitive concern, that concern is worth discussing with a doctor rather than self-treating with a supplement of limited evidence.

Moderate, sold as a monthly supply of powder, capsules or extract.
