LED Light Therapy

LED light therapy applies red and near-infrared light to the skin, marketed for skin rejuvenation, acne treatment and mild pain relief. It is available both as in-clinic treatments and increasingly as at-home consumer devices.

Reasonable evidence supports improvement in skin texture and acne with regular, consistent use. Compared to many procedures in this category, it is a relatively low-risk, well-tolerated treatment with a supportive, if modest, evidence base.

Minimal for most people, with occasional temporary skin sensitivity or redness reported.

If you take photosensitising medication or have an active skin condition, check with a doctor or dermatologist before starting regular use.

At-home devices are a one-off purchase; in-clinic sessions are priced individually or as a course.
