Fisetin is a plant flavonoid, found in strawberries and other fruits, that has become one of the most discussed senolytic candidates in longevity research, theorised to help clear senescent cells. It is often mentioned alongside quercetin.
Fisetin has shown senolytic effects in animal studies, which generated significant interest. Human evidence is very early, with clinical trials ongoing rather than concluded. As with quercetin, the enthusiasm in longevity circles currently runs well ahead of demonstrated human benefit.
Appears well tolerated in the limited human data available, but long-term safety at the high intermittent doses used in longevity protocols is not established. Potential medication interactions are not fully mapped.
The senolytic use of fisetin is experimental and based largely on animal data and ongoing (not completed) human trials. If you take prescription medication, check for interactions. This should be viewed as an area of active research, not an established intervention.
